EMAIL: For Summer Heat that Only Rosé Can Beat!

To Rosé or Two Rosé, now that is the question.

Dear Friends:

Today we’ve got two spectacular and totally different Rosés to get you through the hot, humid days of July. Two price points, two different regions of France, two delicious wines.

Two great wines, but three fabulous discounts: 10% off 1-5 bottles, 15% off 6-11 and 20% off a full case or more. And you can mix and match the wines any way you like.

From Château Lamothe in Bordeaux comes the Miette Bordeaux Rosé. You’ve heard us gush about their white Bordeaux—now here comes their crisp, fabulous rosé. Made primarily of Cabernet Franc, this wine is bright, snappy, and has good body. There's a bit of Merlot in the blend. It's a small part of the wine but an important part of its name: "Miette" is named after the owner's mother, who likes to sit in one particular patch of Merlot vines.

There's candied lemon and orange peel, and some red raspberry fruit which is balanced by surprising white pepper and salinity. The acid is bright and the finish has refreshing aloe herbaceous-ness. It's dry, fresh, and completely glug-worthy. The wine overdelivers at it's regular price of $13.99; at 20% off it's a steal.

Our second Rosé is next-level stuff. Domaine de la Tour du Bon’s Bandol Rosé is a delicious example of why so many consider Bandol the pinnacle of what rosé has to offer. Agnès Henry, the winemaker at Tour du Bon, is committed to biodynamic farming and old school, non-manipulative winemaking (including open, topped, cement casques for fermentation.) Her hard work has paid off in this terroir-driven rosé.

In this blend of Mourvèdre, Cinsault, Grenache, and Clairette, you can taste the minerality of clay and limestone soils. Beyond the finely etched, stoney flavor, there's a bright and delicate balance of tart red berries, white peach, and crispy citrus, and n intense but elegant nose that matches. This is the rosé you've been craving--and one of the best deals of the summer!

Cheers,

Maggie Scudder
